Electronic Fiscal Devices

Gestetner Limited, one of the countr’s leading suppliers of ICT solutions and products has introduced on the market its Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFDs).

The EFD is an electronic monitoring system implemented by the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), aimed at enhancing efficiency and compliance on value added tax (VAT) collection in the country.

Every VAT taxpayer throughout Malawi will be mandated to procure, install and use EFDs, a development which will see an increase in revenue collected by the MRA as it is expected to curb tax evasion.
